GAMHARIA – In a major crackdown, the excise department raided two houses in Chhota Gamharia under Gamharia police station in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, seizing large quantities of illegal liquor and materials for manufacturing fake alcohol.
The raid, conducted early Friday morning based on a tip-off, led to the recovery of 17 drums of spirit, fake liquor, hundreds of new bottle caps, liquor stickers, QR code machines, and sealing equipment.
The operation took place at two locations, one marked with the sign "Meera Sadan" and the other linked to the "RA Bhai Educational Trust," recognized by the government.
Excise inspector Neeraj Kumar from Adityapur confirmed that these raids are part of heightened surveillance ahead of the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections. He assured that more such actions will continue to curb illegal activities.
