JAMSHEDPUR – A fire incident at a Durga Puja pandal in Mango has prompted heightened safety measures across the city as festival preparations continue.

The Sarvajanin Durga Puja Committee’s pandal on Dimna Road was destroyed by fire late Saturday night.

Moreover, local residents battled the blaze with household water supplies before firefighters arrived.

However, despite efforts, the entire structure was reduced to ashes by 2:30 AM.

Meanwhile, authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to determine the cause of the fire.

Asit Bhattacharjee, the Committee’s General Secretary, confirmed an ongoing investigation into the incident.

On the other hand, the district administration has intensified pandal inspections citywide.

Furthermore, District Magistrate Ananya Mittal is overseeing police visits to various pandal sites.

In addition, the LRDCC Dhalbhum has reviewed pandal constructions across different police station areas.

"We’re working closely with puja committees to ensure a safe celebration," remarked a police official.

Puja committees have been instructed to maintain peace and collaborate with law enforcement.

Besides safety protocols, other preparations by the committees are also under assessment.

Authorities are providing feedback to improve security measures during the festivities.

In conclusion, as Jamshedpur gears up for Durga Puja, safety remains a top priority in light of recent events.
