Jharkhand to Compete in 38th HFI Sub-Junior Handball Championship

18-player squad from various districts set for Hyderabad tournament

JAMSHEDPUR – Jharkhand’s young handball talents are gearing up for a national-level competition in Hyderabad, showcasing the state’s sporting prowess.

The 38th HFI Sub-Junior Boys National Handball Championship 2024 is set to commence on October 3rd.

Moreover, the tournament will take place at D.P.S Nadargul, Hyderabad, lasting until October 7th.

Jharkhand’s 18-player squad includes representatives from six different districts.

In addition, the team boasts a mix of talents from Saraikela Kharsawa, East Singhbhum, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Gumla, and Bokaro.

Furthermore, Khurshid Khan, Secretary of the Jharkhand State Handball Association, will manage the team.

Meanwhile, four officials will accompany the squad to provide support and guidance.

The team is scheduled to depart from Jamshedpur on October 1st, 2024.

On the other hand, their journey involves a train ride to Kharagpur before heading to Hyderabad.

"We have high hopes for our young players in this prestigious tournament," a team official remarked.

Additionally, Amit Kumar Pathak from Dumka has been nominated as a referee for the championship.

However, the competition level at the national event is expected to be fierce.

Nevertheless, the Jharkhand team is determined to make their mark in the tournament.

The team has players representing different districts of the state:

Saraikela Kharsawa: Sunil Munda, Jay Mukhi, Abhinav Bharat Soy, Bhawesh Kumar Jaiswal, and Riyaz Ahmad
East Singhbhum: Chirag Kishore, Yuvraj Singh, Anas Akhter, Md. Sajid, Pritam, and Abhijeet
Ranchi: Vivek Oraon, Anash Khalko, and Rohit Khalko
Dhanbad: Harsh Kumar and Abhinav Kumar
Gumla: Roshan Kumar Sahu and Neeraj Manjhi
Bokaro: Faizal Dilshad
