1001 women honor Lord Shankar with river water in a grand Kalash Yatra
In a grand display of faith, 1001 women in Jamshedpur carried water from the Swarnarekha River to offer to Lord Shankar at Neelkanth Mahadev Temple during Mahashivratri.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Neelkanth Mahadev Temple in Shankosai Ramnagar, Mango, witnessed a unique celebration this Mahashivratri.
1001 devotees, clad in yellow sarees, carried water from the Swarnarekha River to perform Jalabhishek on Lord Shankar’s Shivalinga.
Their journey began early in the morning, with urns and coconuts in hand, traversing from Sankosai Ramnagar to the temple.
The procession moved through Dimna main road and Sankosai road number one, amidst religious fervor.
En route, the devotees paid homage at five Shiva temples, performing Aarti and worship.
The Kalash Yatra was highlighted by the vibrant dance of Shiva Tandav, accompanied by drums.
Cheers of "Bol Bam" echoed as women danced, balancing the sacred Kalash on their foreheads.
Baba Baidhnath Seva Sangh’s founder, Vikas Singh, supported the participants throughout their spiritual journey.
Following the Yatra, a Rudrabhishek ceremony and a mass Bhandara fed thousands, marking the day’s auspicious conclusion.
Prominent organizers included Vikas Singh, Munna Kumar Jha, and Sushila Sharma among others.
