JAMSHEDPUR – A police officer in Ulidih has been suspended following allegations of on-duty intoxication and misconduct towards a political worker.
ASI A Prasad, stationed at Ulidih police station, faced disciplinary action today.
The incident came to light after BJP leader Vikas Singh filed a complaint.
According to reports, Prasad was heavily intoxicated during his duty hours.
Moreover, he allegedly used abusive language towards Rakesh Mandal, a BJP worker and Singh’s supporter, over the phone.
Evidence of Prasad drinking in uniform was obtained by Singh.
Additionally, Mandal provided Singh with a recording of the verbal abuse.
Subsequently, Singh reported the matter to Senior Superintendent of Police Kaushal Kishore.
He emphasized that drinking in uniform while on duty is unacceptable.
The SSP took the complaint seriously and ordered an investigation.
Furthermore, he assigned the Patmada DSP to look into the allegations.
The investigation confirmed the veracity of Singh’s claims.
As a result, the Senior SP decided to take strict action against the erring officer.
Consequently, ASI A Prasad was suspended from his duties.
