LOHARDAGA – A recent Congress party meeting in Lohardaga district sparked controversy over demands for a local candidate in upcoming assembly elections.

Dr. Rameshwar Oraon, Lohardaga MLA and State Finance Minister, accused MP Sukhdev Bhagat of inciting party workers inappropriately.

The meeting, held at Rajendra Bhawan Congress office, turned chaotic when Bhagat raised the local candidate issue.

"Sloganeering for a local candidate goes against both the Indian and Congress constitutions," Oraon stated firmly.

He emphasized that such behavior from a Member of Parliament is unbecoming and inappropriate.

"Political differences are normal, but inciting people during meetings is unacceptable," a senior party member commented.

Oraon plans to address the public directly regarding this matter.

The Finance Minister stressed that all Congress workers contribute to the party’s efforts.

"I will also go to the people. All of us sitting here are Congress workers," Oraon declared.

He highlighted that while everyone works for the party, an MP’s role should not include provocative actions.

The incident has created a rift within the local Congress unit.

Party leadership is expected to address the internal conflict soon.

Political analysts view this as a potential challenge for Congress in the upcoming elections.
