Railway Disruptions: Sambalpur Division Announces Changes

Train cancellations and diversions due to development work until Feb 2025

JAMSHEDPUR – Sambalpur Division has announced temporary changes to train services due to ongoing development work, affecting routes until early 2025.

The Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Jharsuguda MEMU Special (08169/08170) faces cancellation.

This cancellation will be in effect from September 20, 2024, to February 5, 2025.

Meanwhile, the Puri-Rourkela Express (18126) will undergo a route change.

For journeys starting between September 20, 2024, and February 5, 2025, it will be diverted.

The new route will take the train via Sambalpur City-Sarla.

On the other hand, the Rourkela-Puri Express (18125) will also see a diversion.

This change applies to trips commencing within the same period.

The Express will now travel via Sarla-Sambalpur City.

"We apologize for any inconvenience caused to passengers," stated a railway official.

However, these changes are necessary to facilitate important development work in the region.

Travelers are advised to check updated schedules before planning their journeys.

The railway authorities assure that normal services will resume after February 5, 2025.

In conclusion, passengers are requested to stay informed about these temporary alterations to their train routes.
