NIT Jamshedpur Hosts Science Innovation Camp

DST-sponsored event draws 160 students, features distinguished guests

JAMSHEDPUR – The National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur’s Mechanical Engineering Department recently held a Science Innovation Camp, drawing participants from local educational institutions.

The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, sponsored the event.

Around 160 students from nearby colleges and schools took part in the camp.

Dr. Dev Kumar Chakraborty, formerly of IIT Guwahati, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Meanwhile, Dr. S.K. Singh, Chairman of B.Ed. College, attended as the Special Guest.

Prof. Satish Kumar, the event coordinator, kicked off the camp by stressing the crucial role of innovation in scientific progress.

In his address, Dr. Chakraborty shed light on recent developments in engineering and scientific fields.

Moreover, he urged the students to pursue their studies with unwavering dedication.

Dr. S.K. Singh, on the other hand, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship and research.

Prof. M. Hasan discussed the significance of incorporating Indian knowledge systems into education.

"Innovation is the key to solving tomorrow’s challenges," remarked a participating student.

As the camp drew to a close, Prof. Sanjay, Head of the Department, showcased NIT Jamshedpur’s cutting-edge research facilities.

Furthermore, he encouraged students to actively engage in innovative projects and research endeavors.

In conclusion, Prof. Satish commended the event for its success in promoting scientific knowledge and fostering collaboration.
