Jamshedpur FC Unveils 28-Member Squad for ISL 2024-25

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur FC has revealed its 28-member squad for the upcoming Indian Super League 2024-25 season, introducing a unique five-captain leadership structure.
The club has made significant changes to its roster, bringing in a mix of experienced international players and local talent.
Head coach Khalid Jamil announced the appointment of five captains: Javi Hernandez, Rei Tachikawa, Seiminlen Doungel, Pronay Halder, and Nikhil Barla.
"This innovative approach aims to foster collective responsibility and utilize diverse strengths," explained a team spokesperson.
The squad boasts six international players, including returning favorites and new signings.
Japanese midfielder Rei Tachikawa and Spanish forward Javier Siverio Toro have extended their contracts from last season.
Nigerian defender Stephen Eze makes a comeback after his 2020-21 stint with the club.
Australian forward Jordan Murray, who previously won the ISL League Winners’ Shield with Jamshedpur FC, rejoins the attack.
New additions include Serbian defender Lazar Cirkovic and Spanish midfielder Javier Hernandez.
Coach Jamil expressed his enthusiasm for the team’s composition, stating, "We’ve created a perfect blend of local, Indian, and foreign players."
Focusing on Youth Development
Jamshedpur FC continues its commitment to nurturing local talent.
The squad includes four players from Jharkhand: Nikhil Barla, Samir Murmu, Amrit Gope, and Mobashir Rahman.
Seven players from the club’s youth academy (TFA) have made it to the senior squad.
"Nearly 40% of our Indian players have risen through our academy ranks," noted the club’s youth development director.
Upcoming Season Kickoff
Jamshedpur FC will begin their ISL campaign with an away match against FC Goa on September 17.
Their first home game is scheduled for September 21 at the JRD Sports Complex against Mumbai City FC.
"We’re thrilled about the upcoming season and confident in our squad’s potential," said Coach Jamil.
