JAMSHEDPUR – The Ministry of Railways has announced the launch of a new Vande Bharat Express connecting Howrah and Bhagalpur, marking a significant upgrade in the rail connectivity between these two important locations.

The inaugural run of the train, designated as Train No. 22309/22310, is scheduled for September 15, 2024.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the service via video conferencing at 11:00 hours, emphasizing the government’s commitment to enhancing rail infrastructure across the country.

The new Vande Bharat Express will operate six days a week, with services available every day except Friday.

The train, consisting of eight coaches, is designed for a faster and more comfortable journey, reducing the travel time significantly between Howrah and Bhagalpur.

Regular operations will commence from September 17, 2024, with the train departing Howrah at 07:45 and reaching Bhagalpur at 14:05, providing a swift and efficient service for commuters.

Enhanced Connectivity

This introduction is expected to bolster economic activities and improve accessibility between West Bengal and Bihar.

An official from the Eastern Railway commented, "The Vande Bharat Express is a step forward in modernizing our railway network and providing better service to passengers."

The route includes key stops at Bolpur Shantiniketan, Rampurhat, Dumka, and other major stations, ensuring comprehensive connectivity along the way.

This new addition to the Vande Bharat fleet is part of a broader push to deploy more high-speed trains across India, further improving the efficiency and reliability of the nation’s rail services.
