RANCHI – Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has launched a scathing attack on BJP leaders, comparing them to "political vultures" ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
Soren made these remarks at a function in Gandey, Giridih district, on Monday.
The CM accused BJP leaders from other states of descending upon Jharkhand during election time.
He hinted at leaders like Himanta Biswa Sarma from Assam and Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Madhya Pradesh.
Soren warned that a "big vulture," alluding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would soon arrive.
The CM criticized the opposition for allegedly dividing people along religious and caste lines.
He accused BJP of creating obstacles in the execution of popular schemes for four years.
Soren referenced his own five-month imprisonment, crediting his release to tribal support.
The CM also addressed the issue of Sarna religion code, criticizing its delay by the Centre.
He highlighted his government’s unanimous resolution on the Sarna dharma code sent to the Centre.
Soren alleged that the Centre has been sitting on the resolution for several years.
The CM criticized the reduction of OBC reservation in Jharkhand from 27% to 14%.
He accused the opposition of using legal means to obstruct women’s welfare schemes.
Soren announced development projects worth Rs 465.14 crore for Giridih and Dhanbad districts.
The CM inaugurated 310 schemes and distributed assets to 13.06 lakh beneficiaries.
He highlighted his government’s efforts to address issues of various government employees.
Soren claimed that Jharkhand’s initiatives are being imitated by other states.
