JAMSHEDPUR – The Jharkhand Yuva Morcha has called for the immediate arrest of Brijesh Singh in connection with the alleged assault of a minor tribal girl and her mother in Kadma.
A delegation led by the Morcha President Baban Rai met with the Kadma police, expressing dissatisfaction with the delay in arresting Singh.
Although the police confirmed that an FIR has been lodged under the SC/ST Act, the Morcha warned of escalating the issue to Chief Minister Hemant Soren if no swift action is taken.
The incident occurred in Bhatia Basti’s Goswami Path, where Singh, also known as Munna Singh, allegedly beat the victims with sticks.
The Morcha has threatened to bring the victims to meet the Chief Minister during his upcoming visit to Kolhan.
District Vice Presidents Arun Prasad and Pamme Singh were among those in the delegation demanding Singh’s immediate arrest.
The police assured that the arrest would happen soon.
