JAMSHEDPUR – A tragic road accident near Bistupur traffic signal claimed the lives of two brothers from Jugsalai Baldev Basti, sparking protests and road blockades.

The incident occurred late at night when Akash Nandi and Kartik Nandi were fetching food for their mother.

A trailer struck the brothers near the Bistupur traffic signal.

Akash died instantly at the scene.

Kartik was rushed to TMH and later referred to RIMS but succumbed on the way.

Family members accused the Bistupur police of negligence in handling the situation.

They claim timely assistance could have saved Kartik’s life.

“The police’s carelessness extinguished two lights of our family,” lamented a relative.

Akash leaves behind a wife and two children under 10 years old.

Protesters blocked the Jugsalai-Bistupur main road, demanding justice and compensation.

They’re seeking a job for Akash’s wife and ₹50 lakh for each affected family.

“We’re crying out for justice after losing our loved ones,” said a family spokesperson.

After an hour of demonstration, Jugsalai police pacified the crowd.

Protesters were escorted to Bistupur police station for further discussions.

The tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning.

Authorities are expected to address the family’s demands promptly.
