Jamshedpur’s 106th Ganesh Puja festival to feature elaborate rituals, star-studded inaugurations, and a vibrant fair from September 7-22, culminating in a grand immersion procession.

JAMSHEDPUR – The city prepares for a 16-day Ganesh Puja extravaganza, featuring VIP guests, traditional rituals, and a grand fair starting September 7.

The ancient city of Jamshedpur is abuzz with excitement as it prepares to host the 106th annual Kadma Shri Shri Ganesh Puja Mahotsav, a celebration that promises to be a spectacular showcase of devotion, culture, and community spirit.

The festivities are set to commence with a grand inaugural ceremony on September 6, marking the beginning of a 16-day extravaganza that will captivate residents and visitors alike.

Odisha Governor Raghubar Das will preside as the chief guest, lending an air of prestige to the opening event.

The organizing committee has spared no effort in ensuring a diverse and engaging program that caters to all age groups.

"This year’s Ganesh Puja Mahotsav is not just a religious event, but a celebration of our community’s unity and cultural heritage," remarked a senior member of the organizing committee.

Daily rituals, commencing at the crack of dawn, will form the spiritual core of the festival.

Devotees can partake in a variety of pujas, including the Suprabhat, Vedaparayanam, and Abhishekam, all conducted under the guidance of the esteemed Priest Shashi Bhushan Shastri from Andhra Pradesh.

The melodious strains of Nadhaswaram performances by the renowned Sri Venkateswara Group will add a touch of divine musicality to both mornings and evenings throughout the festival.

Community Engagement and Entertainment

Beyond the religious ceremonies, the Mahotsav will feature a grand fair that promises to be a major attraction for attendees of all ages.

Thrill-seekers can look forward to an array of exciting rides, including the much-anticipated Ranger and Tsunami swings.

For those seeking a more relaxed experience, the fair will host a variety of stalls offering everything from artificial jewelry to Kanpur utensils, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

The organizing committee has also prioritized community service as part of the festivities.

A special Narayan Seva event is scheduled for September 14, demonstrating the festival’s commitment to giving back to society.

This will be followed by the distribution of Mahabhandaar to approximately 6,000 devotees on September 21, further emphasizing the spirit of sharing and community that underlies the celebrations.

Grand Finale

The Mahotsav will reach its crescendo on September 22 with a magnificent immersion procession.

Starting from the Kadma Rankini Temple at 5:00 PM, the procession will wind its way through the city’s main thoroughfares, culminating in a spectacular immersion ceremony at the Kharkai River.

Attendees can look forward to a dazzling display of tableaux and a breathtaking fireworks show, providing a fitting end to over two weeks of celebration.

As Jamshedpur gears up for this monumental event, the air is thick with anticipation.

The 106th Kadma Shri Shri Ganesh Puja Mahotsav stands as a testament to the city’s rich cultural heritage and its ability to bring together people from all walks of life in a spirit of joy and devotion.
