RANCHI – The excise constable efficiency test in Jharkhand, set for September 3-5, has been postponed due to recent fatalities among participants.

The Jharkhand Police Headquarters’ media cell confirmed the postponement.

The government halted the test after 14 deaths were reported, including one in Musabani CTC, Jamshedpur, during a run.

The BJP has criticized the government, offering ₹1 lakh compensation for each deceased family and questioning the testing conditions.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to these deaths.

The tests were to be held across seven centers in the state.

The BJP has intensified its attack on the government, blaming poor conditions for the deaths and demanding accountability.
