Torch rally in Jamshedpur condemns Hemant government’s policies after 12 candidates die during physical test

BJP youth wing held a torch rally in Jamshedpur protesting the deaths of 12 candidates during the excise constable recruitment process.

JAMSHEDPUR – Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organized a torch rally in Jamshedpur to protest the deaths of 12 candidates during the excise constable recruitment process.

The rally, led by BJYM District President Nitish Kumar, saw thousands of party workers marching from the BJP office to Sakchi Gol Chakkar.

Protesters chanted slogans against the Hemant Soren government, holding it responsible for the tragic deaths.

"The Hemant government is distributing death instead of jobs," stated Nitish Kumar, demanding a judicial inquiry and compensation for victims’ families.

The BJYM leader criticized the government’s insensitivity and "Tughlaq-like" policies in conducting the recruitment drive.

Government’s Recruitment Process Under Fire

Amit Agarwal, BJYM State Secretary, accused the government of mismanaging the recruitment process.

"The government failed to provide basic facilities like drinking water and toilets at recruitment centers," Agarwal claimed.

He highlighted the government’s rushed decision to conduct the physical test in intense heat after failing to fulfill job promises for five years.

"Hundreds of youth fell seriously ill, and dozens lost their lives trying to complete a 10 km run in just one hour in sweltering heat," Agarwal added.

The protesters demanded proper arrangements for future recruitment drives to prevent such tragedies.

Call for Justice and Compensation

The BJP youth wing expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased candidates.

They demanded a judicial inquiry into the deaths and appropriate compensation for the victims’ families.

The party also called for government jobs to be provided to the dependents of the deceased candidates.

"The government’s insensitivity and dictatorial attitude are exposed by such inhuman incidents," remarked a protester.

The torch rally, with its fiery display of anger and sorrow, demonstrated that the youth will no longer remain silent against perceived injustice.
