Pregnant Woman Left Unattended for 27 Hours at MGM Hospital
Fetus dies in womb; treatment begins after BJP leader’s intervention
A pregnant woman was neglected for 27 hours at MGM Hospital, Kolhan’s largest government medical facility.
JAMSHEDPUR – A pregnant woman from Turamdih faced severe neglect at MGM Hospital, lying on the maternity ward floor for 27 hours.
The expectant mother arrived at MGM Hospital on Wednesday morning, only to be left without proper medical attention or a bed.
Medical staff later discovered the fetus had died in the womb, yet no action was taken to address the situation.
The woman’s husband, Aryan Ho, desperately appealed to doctors to remove the deceased fetus and save his wife’s life.
His pleas fell on deaf ears as the hospital staff continued to ignore the critical situation.
The dire circumstances persisted until BJP leader Vimal Baitha stepped in to address the issue.
Baitha lodged a formal complaint with the hospital superintendent and publicly raised awareness about the incident.
Following Baitha’s intervention, the hospital finally initiated treatment for the distressed woman.
A local resident, speaking on condition of anonymity, expressed shock at the incident, stating, "It’s unthinkable that a pregnant woman in distress could be neglected for so long in a major government hospital. This raises serious questions about the state of healthcare in our region."
This alarming incident has sparked concerns about MGM Hospital’s ability to handle critical cases and provide timely care to patients in need.
The hospital administration has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident and the measures being taken to prevent such occurrences in the future.
