10 km Run in Police Recruitment Proves Challenging; 46 Youths Faint in Giridih

Shortage of space in Giridih Sadar Hospital after 46 candidates faint during the recruitment run.

The 10 km run for police recruitment in the hot weather is proving too strenuous, with 46 candidates fainting in Giridih on Friday.

GIRIDIH – The 10 km run required for recruitment into the Excise Department has become increasingly challenging for young candidates due to the extreme heat.

Over the past few days, more than 200 candidates have fainted while attempting to complete the mandatory run.

On Friday, 46 candidates fainted during the run and were rushed to Giridih Sadar Hospital.

Doctors confirmed that these candidates were not using any drugs or injections to enhance their performance, indicating that the stringent recruitment standards themselves are causing the exhaustion.

The incident highlighted the toll this process is taking on the youth.

Due to the sudden influx of patients, the hospital faced a shortage of wards, forcing medical staff to treat the unconscious candidates outside the ward area.

The situation has also created logistical challenges for the healthcare workers, who are struggling to transport and treat the large number of fainted candidates.

Ambulances and staff are overwhelmed by the number of cases, complicating the already demanding process of getting the candidates to the hospital for treatment.
