MLA pushes for 200-unit subsidy for Jusco consumers in line with JBVNL customers
Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy calls for equity in electricity subsidies between JBVNL and Jusco areas during a recent JBVNL office meeting.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a recent meeting at the JBVNL office, Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy advocated for equal electricity subsidies between JBVNL and Jusco areas.
The meeting, chaired by JBVNL General Manager VP Singh, addressed various electricity-related issues in Jamshedpur.
Roy urged that Jusco consumers should receive the same 200-unit subsidy currently provided to JBVNL customers.
VP Singh assured that Jusco is ready to extend electricity services in the Telco Azad Market, with network installation dependent on feasibility assessments.
The Chhayanagar substation is expected to be operational within a week.
By September 15, the Bagunahatu substation is slated to become functional.
Construction and installation work for the Moharda area is scheduled for completion by the end of September.
Singh reported that the Jusco network in Bhaktinagar, Burmamines is now complete, allowing residents to apply for new connections.
Surveys for new networks are underway in several areas, including Bhuiyandih, Gwala Basti, and Babudih.
Substation sites have been selected for Baridih Basti, Bagunnagar D Block, and TOP Maidan, with LT network feasibility surveys set to begin in October.
MLA Roy instructed JBVNL’s GM to address issues with exposed electricity wires and bamboo poles over houses.
New transformers will be installed by October, and repairs to overhead wires will be carried out under the RDSS scheme.
A High Court hearing regarding electricity distribution to every house in the Cable Town area is scheduled for August 29.
The meeting was attended by JBVNL GM, Jusco GM, MLA’s personal secretary Sudhir Singh, and other officials.
