JAMSHEDPUR – Security forces have successfully neutralized four Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) during an ongoing anti-Naxal operation in West Singhbhum district’s forested regions.
The operation, targeting the banned CPI(Maoist) organization, is being conducted by a joint task force in the Jimki-Murumbura-Husipi area.
Each of the discovered IEDs weighed 5 kilograms and was strategically placed to target security personnel.
The joint task force comprises units from Chaibasa Police, Cobra battalions, Jharkhand Jaguar, and multiple CRPF battalions.
This operation, which began on October 10, 2023, covers several villages under the Goilkera and Tonta police stations.
The security forces are focusing on areas where top Maoist leaders, including Misir Besra and Anmol, are reportedly active.
Upon discovery, the bomb disposal squad promptly destroyed the Pressure Plate IEDs (PNPs) on-site to ensure safety.
The operation highlights the persistent Naxalite threat in the region and the security forces’ commitment to maintaining peace.
Local authorities have praised the efforts of the joint task force in this successful neutralization.
The operation continues as forces search for remaining threats and work to dismantle the CPI(Maoist) infrastructure in the area.
