Hemant Soren Accuses BJP of False Land Mafia Claims

CM launches women’s welfare scheme, criticizes opposition ahead of assembly elections

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren refutes BJP’s land mafia accusations, launches welfare scheme for women in Palamu.

RANCHI – Chief Minister Hemant Soren addressed a rally in Palamu, launching a women’s welfare scheme and criticizing BJP’s allegations.

Hemant Soren, speaking at a rally in Palamu on Thursday, vehemently denied accusations of being a "land mafia" leveled against him by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Chief Minister was in Palamu to inaugurate the Jharkhand Chief Minister Mainiya Samman Yojana, a welfare scheme targeting women in Palamu, Garhwa, and Latehar districts.

Soren recounted his experiences, stating, "I was labeled a land thief and even imprisoned on these charges."

He accused the BJP and the Central Government of relentless harassment, alleging attempts to destabilize his government and fracture his party.

"Despite false allegations and imprisonment, justice prevailed through the High Court and Supreme Court’s orders," Soren declared.

The Chief Minister warned of potential communal tactics as the November-December assembly elections approach.

"Our opponents will likely resort to Hindu-Muslim rhetoric, as seen in the Lok Sabha elections," Soren cautioned.

He criticized the opposition’s planned Yuva Akrosh Rally, questioning their stance on employment.

"While they’ve halted job opportunities in sectors like the army, railways, and banks, we continue to generate employment in Jharkhand," Soren asserted.

Highlighting his government’s achievements, Soren announced that over 45 lakh women have registered for the Mainiya Samman Yojana in just two weeks.

"We’ve approved applications from 43 lakh women, and before August 31, the first installment of Rs 1,000 will be transferred to all registered beneficiaries," he promised.

Local resident Priya Kumari expressed optimism about the scheme, saying, "This initiative could significantly improve the lives of many women in our region."

As the assembly elections draw near, Soren’s rally and welfare scheme launch mark a significant push to consolidate support among women voters in Jharkhand.
