Former Ranji player to lead senior women’s squad in upcoming season

A seasoned cricketer from Jamshedpur takes on a new role in shaping Jharkhand’s women’s cricket future.

JAMSHEDPUR – Rajkumar Yadav, a former Ranji cricketer from Jamshedpur, has been appointed as the coach of the Jharkhand Senior Women’s Cricket Team.

Yadav, currently working as a Raj Bhasha official at BSNL, brings extensive cricket experience to his new position.

The newly appointed coach holds both BCCI Level-1 and Level-2 coaching certificates.

Yadav’s cricket career includes playing as a medium pace bowler in the Ranji Trophy.

His coaching experience spans various age groups, including Jharkhand’s Under-16, Under-19, and Under-23 teams.

The appointment aims to elevate the performance of Jharkhand’s women’s cricket squad.

A training and conditioning camp for the team has already begun in Ranchi.

Approximately 25 senior women cricketers from across Jharkhand are participating in the camp.

The selection of Yadav highlights the state’s commitment to developing women’s cricket.

His dual experience as a player and coach is expected to benefit the team’s strategy and skill development.

The camp in Ranchi serves as the first step in preparing the team for upcoming tournaments.

Yadav’s transition from men’s to women’s cricket coaching marks a significant career move.

The BCCI’s focus on women’s cricket development is reflected in such strategic coaching appointments.

Jharkhand Cricket Association officials express optimism about the team’s prospects under Yadav’s guidance.

This move is seen as part of a broader effort to strengthen women’s cricket infrastructure in the state.
