Jharkhand CM Highlights Women-Centric Schemes Ahead of Polls
Soren touts ‘historic’ initiatives, including pension and financial assistance programs
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren showcases his government’s women-centric schemes ahead of upcoming assembly elections.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren promotes women-focused initiatives, including pension schemes and financial assistance programs, before assembly polls.
On Raksha Bandhan, Chief Minister Hemant Soren took to social media to highlight his government’s achievements in implementing women-centric schemes.
Soren proclaimed Jharkhand as the first state to provide a monthly pension of Rs 1,000 to widows, single mothers, and women over 50.
The Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana (JMMSY) aims to benefit over 48 lakh women with annual financial assistance of Rs 12,000.
Launched in Pakur, the JMMSY promises to credit beneficiaries’ accounts by the 15th of each month.
The government has also initiated the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana, providing Rs 40,000 to 10 lakh adolescent girls.
"We’ve empowered millions of women through Sakhi Mandal, disbursing over Rs 10,000 crore for livelihood promotion in the last four and a half years," stated a JMM leader.
The ‘Phool-Jhano Abhiyan’ has created alternative livelihood opportunities for more than 35,000 women in the state.
Other initiatives include the Abua Awas Yojana, Sona Sobran Dhoti-Sari Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Rojgar Srijan Yojana.
Soren assured that efforts to enhance women’s dignity and self-respect would continue to expand in the future.
