A Jamshedpur blood donation camp organized by ‘Koshish Ek Muskaan Laane Ki’ collected 832 units, breaking all previous records.
JAMSHEDPUR – A record 832 units of blood were collected at a one-day blood donation camp organized by ‘Koshish Ek Muskaan Laane Ki’ on Sunday at Son Mandap in Sidhgora.
The event, held in memory of freedom fighters, saw participation from social activists, political leaders, and citizens across various walks of life.
Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, Minister Banna Gupta, and MLA Saryu Roy were among the prominent figures who attended, either donating blood or encouraging donors.
The camp, which ran from 8 AM to 5 PM, also provided free health check-ups, including blood sugar and BP tests, with gifts and certificates awarded to participants.
A total of 832 units of blood were collected, with hundreds of first-time donors.
In addition, seven individuals were selected for free cataract surgery at Poornima Netralaya.
Selfie points were set up to inspire other donors, and the organization’s social initiatives were also highlighted.
Shiv Shankar Singh, the organizer, expressed gratitude to the volunteers and attendees, emphasizing the importance of blood donation.
Editor Sanjay Mishra urged the organization to start a campaign against drug addiction in the city.
