Congress-JMM Govt Increased Wages, Launched Schemes for Women: Dr. Ajoy Kumar

Minimum wages hiked, women to receive ₹1,000 per month under Maiyan Samman Yojana

The Congress-JMM alliance government in Jharkhand has launched several welfare schemes to uplift women, laborers, farmers, and youth, according to Dr. Ajoy Kumar.

JAMSHEDPUR – Dr. Ajoy Kumar, former MP and senior Congress leader, announced that the Jharkhand India alliance government has launched several welfare schemes to uplift farmers, laborers, women, and youth.

He criticized the previous BJP government for not increasing the minimum wages between 2014 and 2019, leaving laborers to struggle with rising inflation.

The Hemant government, however, increased the minimum wage from ₹486.84 to ₹700, improving the standard of living for skilled workers, he said.

Women Empowerment Through Maiyan Samman Yojana

The Hemant government introduced the Maiyan Samman Yojana, providing ₹1,000 per month to women aged 21 to 50, with the first installment set to be distributed on August 19, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan.

This initiative is expected to strengthen women financially, he said.

Additionally, the Jharkhand government, under the India alliance, is providing 200 units of free electricity per month to residents, offering significant relief to the common people.

The government has also waived up to ₹2 lakh in loans for farmers and issued special instructions to ensure timely supply of seeds and fertilizers at affordable prices.

Dr. Ajoy highlighted the government’s efforts to address unemployment, with plans to appoint over 25,000 individuals to various positions by October.

He also mentioned the government’s grant of ₹40,000 to girls from Class 8 to 12 and the launch of the Jharkhand Guruji Credit Card Yojana 2024, offering education loans up to ₹15 lakh at a 4% interest rate for higher studies across the country.
