ABVP activists in Jamshedpur took out a protest march and burned an effigy of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in response to the gang rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata.
JAMSHEDPUR – ABVP activists in Jamshedpur staged a protest, burning an effigy of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee at Karandih Chowk, condemning the gang rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata.
The activists raised slogans against the West Bengal government, expressing anger over the lack of action against the culprits.
ABVP’s student leader Roshni Kumari criticized the West Bengal government, stating that the delay in taking action indicates that the state protects such heinous individuals.
She questioned the functioning of the government, pointing out that such incidents continue to happen under a female chief minister.
Roshni demanded strict action against the culprits to send a strong message that such crimes will not be tolerated.
Aman Thakur, co-convener of Khelo Bharat, stated that ABVP demands the immediate arrest and capital punishment for all the accused and urged the central government to take strict measures to prevent such incidents in West Bengal.
Abhishek Kumar, co-minister of ABVP Jamshedpur Mahanagar, expressed his outrage, highlighting that the state worships Goddess Durga, yet women are unsafe.
He criticized CM Mamata Banerjee for her failure to prevent such incidents and warned of widespread protests if the culprits are not given the death penalty.
The protest saw participation from several ABVP members, including Abhijeet Thakur, Pooja Kumari, Sangeeta Kumari, Neelam Kumari, Aastha Kumari, Mayank Kumar, Sagar Kumar, Sameer Kumar, Sagar Kumar, Shivam Kumar, Ishan Kumar, Ashish Kumar, Gautam Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Sumit Kumar, Ajit Kumar, Subhajit Kumar, Subhangi Kumari, Yuvraj Kumar, and many other students.
