Fotografia 2024: Jamshedpur’s Young Photographers Shine
Kasidih High School hosts 18-school event; Govind Vidyalaya, KPS Burmamines clinch top prizes
Jamshedpur’s annual inter-school photography competition showcases budding talent in product and mirror photography.
JAMSHEDPUR – Kasidih High School’s Fotografia 2024 drew participants from 18 local schools, highlighting young photographic talent.
The event kicked off with A.F. Madon, JEM Foundation Administrator, lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Students competed in two categories: Product Photography and Mirror Photography.
A panel of esteemed local photographers, including Inderjeet Singh Chawla and Shweta Mundhra, judged the entries.
Govind Vidyalaya claimed first place in Product Photography, with J.H. Tarapore School securing second.
Kerala Public School Burmamines emerged victorious in Mirror Photography, followed by Baldwin Farm Area High School.
“The creativity displayed by these young photographers is truly inspiring,” remarked Inderjeet Singh Chawla, one of the judges.
Principal Francis Joseph emphasized the event’s significance in skill development under the New Education Policy.
“Photography is not just an art form, it’s a valuable career skill in today’s visual world,” Joseph stated during his closing address.
The Kasidih High School Photography Club, led by Shania Nanra and Dipti Rani Mishra, organized the competition.
Jiju Thomas, Senior Manager at JEM Foundation, attended as a notable guest.
“Events like Fotografia provide an excellent platform for students to explore their artistic potential,” Thomas commented.
All participants received certificates, recognizing their efforts and enthusiasm.
The success of Fotografia 2024 highlights the growing interest in photography among Jamshedpur’s youth.
