Home Guards Celebrate Historic Pay Decision at CM’s Residence in Ranchi

Home guards across the state celebrate at the CM’s residence after being granted equal daily duty pay as police personnel.

Ranchi’s CM residence resonated with celebrations as home guards rejoiced over the state’s decision to grant them equal daily duty pay.

RANCHI – Hundreds of home guards (volunteers) from across the state gathered at the Chief Minister’s residential office in Ranchi to celebrate the historic decision to grant them daily duty pay equivalent to that of police personnel.

The CM’s residence was filled with the sounds of music, drums, and cheers as the home guards expressed their joy by applying abir and gulal to each other.

The group met with Chief Minister Hemant Soren to personally thank him for this monumental decision, which has brought happiness to their families across the state.

The Chief Minister graciously accepted their greetings and in his address, he emphasized the importance of caring for those who serve the state.

He acknowledged the home guards as an integral part of the state government, assuring them that their welfare is a priority.

CM Soren also highlighted the state’s commitment to ensuring that everyone, whether citizens or government employees, lives with dignity and receives their rightful dues.

He noted that the government’s efforts include fulfilling long-standing demands like that of the home guards, who have now been granted a significant gift.

The Chief Minister stressed that this government values the participation of all its employees and that they will always have the government’s support.

He reflected on the achievements of his government over the past four and a half years, mentioning key decisions like the implementation of the old pension scheme and improvements in the service conditions and pay for various categories of employees, including Anganwadi workers and contract employees.

This celebration was a direct result of the Chief Minister’s announcement on August 10, his 49th birthday, where he approved the proposal to grant home guards daily duty pay of ₹1088, equal to that of police personnel.

The decision has been hailed as a major victory for home guards, recognizing their invaluable contribution to the state’s security.
