ANPR cameras planned for key intersections to curb rash driving and crime

Jamshedpur authorities announce plans to install high-resolution cameras at major intersections to enhance traffic management and security.

JAMSHEDPUR – Rural cum City SP Rishabh Garg unveiled plans to strengthen Jamshedpur’s traffic system and crime prevention measures through the installation of advanced camera technology at key city locations.

The proposed system will feature PT set cameras and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at major intersections and squares.

ANPR technology will enable quick identification of vehicle number plates, addressing concerns of rash driving and aiding in crime prevention.

SP Garg announced upcoming discussions with Tata management regarding the implementation of this system within the next month.

The strategic placement of these cameras is expected to significantly improve traffic management in Jamshedpur.

Authorities aim to use the ANPR technology to swiftly trace and issue challans to reckless drivers, promoting safer road practices.

Beyond traffic control, the high-resolution cameras will provide valuable surveillance data for crime investigation and prevention.

The initiative represents a technological leap in Jamshedpur’s approach to urban safety and traffic management.

This advanced surveillance system is anticipated to serve as a deterrent to criminal activities across the city.

The announcement was made during a press conference on Monday, highlighting the local administration’s commitment to enhancing public safety.
