Police recover five stolen motorcycles and a country-made pistol, arrest three criminals involved in recent thefts.
The Adityapur police have arrested three notorious criminals in connection with multiple motorcycle theft cases in Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
SERAIKELA – The Adityapur police have successfully cracked several motorcycle theft cases in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, leading to the arrest of three habitual offenders.
The accused have been identified as Shriram Tiu, also known as Akash, Vishal Kumar Mahto, and Pappu Gagarai, alias Toppo.
SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat provided details of the operation during a press conference on Monday.
He revealed that the arrests were made following a complaint filed on August 9 by a resident of the RIT police station area, reporting the theft of his motorcycle.
During the investigation, the police uncovered a series of motorcycle thefts and apprehended the suspects.
Based on the information provided by the arrested individuals, the police recovered five stolen motorcycles along with a motorcycle used for reconnaissance.
Additionally, a country-made pistol was seized from their possession.
"The investigation has revealed a well-organized network of motorcycle thefts involving these criminals," SP Lunayat stated.
He added that the trio has been sent to judicial custody, and further inquiries are ongoing to identify other possible connections in these thefts.
This arrest is expected to lead to a reduction in motorcycle thefts in the district, as the police continue their crackdown on criminal activities.
