Chaibasa Chamber Holds 14th Annual General Meeting; Discusses Future Plans
Chaibasa Chamber of Commerce & Industries held its 14th AGM, focusing on future initiatives and honoring members.
On August 11, 2024, the Chaibasa Chamber of Commerce & Industries conducted its 14th Annual General Meeting, where members discussed the organization’s growth and plans for building its own premises.
JAMSHEDPUR – The 14th Annual General Meeting of the Chaibasa Chamber of Commerce & Industries was held today at Pillai Town Hall, marking an important gathering for the organization.
The meeting began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chamber’s office bearers.
President Madhusudan Agarwal delivered the welcome address, highlighting the Chamber’s growth to 498 members, including 44 women and 454 men, making it the leading business association in the district.
Agarwal also shared the Chamber’s goal of constructing its own building in this session.
Nitin Prakash, the outgoing President and Vice President of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Kolhan), reflected on the Chamber’s growth from just 12 members in 2001 to nearly 500 today.
He mentioned that the Chamber will celebrate its 25th anniversary next year with a grand event.
Prakash also noted the increased credibility of the Chamber, which has led to 107 new members joining this year.
Former President Anil Khirwal emphasized the strength of the Chamber, stating that it has become even more robust and united.
Vice Presidents Shibulal Agarwal and Vikas Goyal also addressed the gathering.
Secretary Neeraj Sandwar presented a detailed report on the Chamber’s activities during the first year of the 2023-25 session, followed by Treasurer Rajeev Khirwal, who provided an overview of the income and expenditure.
The meeting then moved on to the ratification of resolutions passed during the 142nd meeting of the Chamber’s Executive Committee, with over 95% of members supporting the proposals.
Following this, the manager of Kotak Mahindra Bank informed the local businesses about the benefits and services offered by the bank.
After a lunch break, the heads of various sub-committees presented their reports on the work done in the first year of the session.
During the Q&A session, the President addressed queries from members and noted important suggestions, which will be proposed in the next Executive Committee meeting.
The meeting concluded with the confirmation of the 14th AGM under Article 13H of the Chamber’s constitution.
Joint Secretary Haji Vakil Khan offered a vote of thanks, and the event ended with the national anthem.
The Chamber also observed a two-minute silence to pay tribute to two members who passed away this year, Rajkumar Agarwal and Manoj Prasad.
A total of 205 members, including office bearers, Executive Committee members, sub-committee chairpersons, and founding members, attended the 14th AGM.
