JAMSHEDPUR – Kolhan Division Commissioner Hari Kumar Keshari led a review meeting to evaluate the progress of the second special summary revision (SSR) 2024 of the voter list in Jamshedpur constituency.
The meeting, attended by District Election Officer Ananya Mittal and various electoral officials, focused on the addition of new voters and updates for senior and disabled voters.
Commissioner Keshari scrutinized the status of Forms 06, 07, and 08, emphasizing the need for proper verification of rejected forms.
He directed that all pending forms be processed promptly and instructed EROs and AEROs to conduct regular inspections of polling stations.
The Commissioner stressed the importance of completing all voter revision tasks within the Election Commission of India’s specified timeframe.
District Election Officer Ananya Mittal reported on the Inclusive Week initiative, which included camps to register voters from remote areas.
Special campaigns were conducted to register eligible citizens, including disabled individuals, senior voters aged 85 and above, and transgender persons.
Instructions were issued to review polling stations with low voter turnout and motivate voters to participate in elections.
The Divisional Commissioner and District Election Officer inspected various polling stations in the 49-Jamshedpur West Assembly Constituency.
They reviewed Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) at polling stations, including Community Center Kagalnagar and Carmel Junior College in Sonari.
During their tour, the officials interacted with voters in Sonari and assessed the progress of the voter list revision work.
The comprehensive review and inspection aim to ensure an accurate and inclusive voter list for the upcoming 2024 elections.
