Jharkhand Braces for Widespread Rainfall as Monsoon Intensifies
IMD predicts light to moderate showers across state; temperatures expected to drop
Jharkhand anticipates widespread rainfall as the monsoon trough and associated depression fuel active weather conditions across the state.
RANCHI – The Indian Meteorological Department’s Ranchi centre forecasts light to moderate rainfall across Jharkhand as the monsoon remains active.
A meteorological official explained that the monsoon trough is currently passing through several regions, including Phalodi and Digha.
An east-west trough extends from a depression over northeast Rajasthan to north Odisha, tilting southwards with height.
These atmospheric conditions are contributing to the active monsoon in Jharkhand.
Temperatures are expected to drop by two degrees in most parts of the state over the next 48 hours.
Jharkhand has been grappling with a 19% rain deficit, having received only 445 mm against the normal 559 mm.
The forecast of continued rainfall is viewed as a positive development in addressing this shortfall.
Local farmers express relief at the prediction of more rain to support their crops.
Ranchi-based farmer Rajeshwar Oraon mentioned his anticipation for steady rainfall to benefit agricultural activities.
The state looks forward to closing the rain deficit gap and ensuring better agricultural outcomes as the monsoon’s active phase continues.
