JAMSHEDPUR – The Tata Steel Group and PGTI are set to host the Tata Steel Tour Championship from December 19 to 22 at Jamshedpur’s renowned Beldih and Golmuri golf courses.
The tournament is PGTI’s biggest event with a whopping ₹3 crore prize pool. A total of 62 professional golfers, including defending champion Gaganjeet Bhullar, Om Prakash Chouhan, and Veer Ahlawat, will battle for top honors.
This championship marks the season finale of the Tata Steel PGTI calendar. Played over 72 holes in a stroke-play format, there will be no cuts, ensuring prize money for all participants. Before the main rounds, a successful Pro-Am event was held on December 17.
The tournament features an innovative split-course format. Players are divided into two groups; one plays the front nine at Golmuri and the back nine at Beldih, while the other group does the reverse. From the second round onward, leading players will follow a consistent pattern of starting at Golmuri and finishing at Beldih.
Top Players and Key Highlights
Top Indian golfers like SSP Chawrasia, Udayan Mane (2019 and 2021 champion), and Yuvraj Sandhu will compete. The 2024 Tata Steel PGTI Ranking Champion will be announced at the conclusion of the event.
The winner of the 2024 season’s rankings will secure a full card for the DP World Tour, paving the way for international exposure.
