Jamshedpur Trailer Owners Union Refutes Company Stand on Rate Hike, Says – Company is Guardian
Union challenges Tata Company’s statement, emphasizes company’s responsibility towards all stakeholders.
Tata Company states rate hike decision is between vendor and union; union president demands broader company accountability.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Local Trailer Owners Union has refuted Tata Company’s recent statement regarding the rate hike being an affair between the local vendors and the trailer owners.
Tata Company, in a statement, had stated that the rate hike decision is between vendor and union.
However, the Trailer Owners’ Union president has demanded broader company accountability.
Union President Jai Kishore Singh stated that Tata Company, as a guardian, has a duty to look after everyone’s interests.
Recently, the union had been protesting for an increase in rates.
Following the protest, the authorized vendor raised the rates, and the union temporarily called off their agitation.
The union had claimed that the company had conceded to their demands and therefore they called off their agitation.
However, subsequently, Tata Company issued a statement asserting that the rate hike was a matter between the vendor and the union, with no company intervention.
Singh criticized this stance, insisting that the company management cannot shirk its responsibilities.
He highlighted other issues, including improving parking facilities and allowing vehicles over 10 years old into the company premises.
The union also demanded that slag-filled vehicles be operated with bunker-equipped trucks, linking these demands directly to Tata Company management.
Singh emphasized that Tata Company management must fulfill its responsibilities comprehensively.
He said that the union remains committed to ensuring that all their demands are met by the company management.
He said that the ongoing dialogue between the union and the vendor will continue to address rate and operational issues.
Union members have expressed their determination to continue to work for protecting the interests of all stakeholders.
