The meeting focused on securing the necessary forest clearance for the airport project.

The airport construction has been delayed due to pending approvals from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC).

The Jharkhand Government had submitted a proposal to transfer 99.256 hectares of forest land for the airport’s development.

MP Bidyut Baran Mahato highlighted the importance of the project and urged the Civil Aviation Minister to expedite discussions with the Secretary of the Environment Ministry.

This is to ensure the swift processing of the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the forest department.
