Bagbera Water Supply Scheme to Launch Before Durga Puja

Project delayed due to railway bridge issues; 60% of pipeline work completed

Jamshedpur’s long-awaited Bagbera water supply project is set to become operational before the Durga Puja festival.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Bagbera water supply scheme in Jamshedpur, delayed for years, is now slated to begin operations before the upcoming Durga Puja festival.

Executive Engineer clarified the delay was caused by railway objections to laying pipes under the bridge.

An alternative route along the railway over-bridge is now 60% complete, with the remaining 40% underway.

Construction of pillars in the river has been finished.

Connection work is largely complete and ongoing.

The main pipeline connection from Sapada to the Water Treatment Plant is being tested and finalized.

Some materials for crossing the Kharkhai river bridge are awaited from Bokaro, after which work will commence on the bridge.

Payment for completed work was made to Preeti Enterprises by the department on August 1st.

The project’s pace has increased following the recent payment, which had previously slowed progress.

Officials are optimistic about starting water supply through the Bagbera Viraj Water Supply Scheme before Durga Puja.

Dr. Kavita Parmar, a district councilor, had earlier demanded answers about the project’s delay during a district council meeting.

The initial completion date was set for July 31st, but various challenges led to the postponement.

Authorities assure that most connection work has been completed and is currently in progress.
