JAMSHEDPUR – Farmers in Madhuabeda village, Bahragora, are rejoicing over the recent rainfall after a week of continuous showers.
With the change in weather and the onset of rain, farmers have begun preparing for the Kharif season and actively engaging in farming activities.
July saw relatively low rainfall, much less than in previous years.
Last year, 2023, also experienced good rainfall, but this year has seen significantly less rain compared to the previous year.
The low rainfall had started to worry farmers, and the migration of agricultural laborers to cities has further complicated farming efforts.
Farmers are concerned about a potential decrease in yield due to the delayed start of the monsoon.
In previous years, paddy transplantation would commence by mid-July, but this year the rain started late.
Farmers noted that if the rain had started two weeks earlier, they wouldn’t be facing these issues.
Currently, paddy transplantation is in full swing in the area.
Farmers are actively working in their fields, taking advantage of the recent showers.
Agricultural activities have gained momentum, bringing a sense of relief to the farmers despite the challenges.
