JAMSHEDPUR – A two-day startup extravaganza, which highlights entrepreneurial talent from across India, is the culmination of an innovative partnership between XLRI’s XCEED and NRIIC.
The grand culmination of Navishkar 2024, which took place on July 29-30, was a significant milestone in the promotion of entrepreneurship in eastern India.
This event, which was a collaborative endeavor between the XLRI Council for Entrepreneurship Excellence & Development (XCEED) and the Navaachar Innovation Research Innovation and Incubation Council (NRIIC), demonstrated the region’s emerging startup potential.

Bridging the Entrepreneurial Gap
Eastern India, despite its rich resources, has lagged behind in startup growth. Professor Sunil Kumar Sarangi, CEO of XCEED XLRI, emphasized, "Regular startup programs in this region are crucial for fostering innovation and economic growth."
The event aimed to address this disparity, providing a platform for entrepreneurs from mineral-rich states like Jharkhand and Odisha, as well as Bihar and West Bengal.

From an impressive pool of 865 applications spanning 19 states, 10 promising startups were selected for the finale. These innovators presented their projects to a panel of experienced founders and XLRI professors, including Dr. Smitu Malhotra, Dr. Kanagaraj A, and Dr. Trilochan Tripathi.
Government Involvement
Binil Mathew, Senior Manager at DPIIT, Government of India, presented on the Start-up India initiative, highlighting the government’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship.
