Tatanagar: South Eastern Railway Boosts Capacity with Extra Coaches

Temporary augmentation to enhance passenger comfort on multiple routes

South Eastern Railway adds sleeper coaches to various trains, improving travel experience for passengers during peak season.

JAMSHEDPUR – South Eastern Railway announces the addition of extra sleeper coaches to multiple train routes, enhancing capacity and comfort for travelers.

The railway authority has implemented a temporary augmentation plan for several popular routes.

This initiative aims to accommodate increased passenger traffic and improve travel conditions.

Extra sleeper class coaches will be attached to trains running between Ranchi, Ara, Godda, Howrah, Jagdalpur, Rourkela, Jainagar, Gunupur, and Banaras.

The augmentation period varies for different routes, generally spanning from early August to late September or early October 2024.

Passengers have welcomed this move, expressing satisfaction with the railway’s efforts to address overcrowding issues.

A frequent traveler, Amit Sharma, commented on the improved capacity: "This is a much-needed step. Now we can travel more comfortably without worrying about seat availability."

The additional coaches are expected to significantly reduce congestion, especially during peak travel seasons.

Railway officials believe this temporary measure will lead to smoother operations and increased passenger satisfaction.

Meera Patel, a regular on the Howrah-Jagdalpur route, shared her thoughts: "It’s refreshing to see the railways taking proactive steps. This will make our journeys much more pleasant."

The augmentation covers a wide range of routes, benefiting passengers across multiple regions.

Each affected train will receive one additional sleeper class coach during the specified period.

This move demonstrates South Eastern Railway’s commitment to enhancing passenger services and responding to traveler needs.

The temporary capacity increase is anticipated to accommodate the rising number of passengers using these routes.

Railway authorities hope this initiative will result in a more comfortable and convenient travel experience for all passengers.
