Tata Steel’s Noamundi Iron Mine Wins Top Safety Award

Century-old mine honored for outstanding performance in large metal category

Tata Steel’s Noamundi Iron Mine has been awarded first prize in the "Metal Above Ground – Large" category at the Mines Safety Award-2024.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s Noamundi Iron Mine has been awarded the highest accolades at the Mines Safety Award-2024, which was conducted by the All India Mines Safety Association under the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) in Kolkata.

The Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in Kolkata was the site of the award ceremony.

The award was presented to the representatives of Noamundi Iron Mine by Prabhat Kumar, the Director General of DGMS.

Atul Kumar Bhatnagar, the General Manager of OMQ, was among the team members who received the award.

The ceremony was also attended by D Vijayendra, the Agent of Noamundi Iron Mine.

The mine’s safety department was represented at the event by Abhaya Kumar Gupta, Head Safety (OMQ).

The Noamundi Iron Mine, situated in Jharkhand, is commemorating its centennial year.

The century-old mine’s exceptional safety standards are underscored by this acknowledgment.

The quarry was awarded the first prize in the "Metal Above Ground – Large" category.

Tata Steel’s dedication to workplace safety in its mining operations is emphasized by the award.

In the mining industry, Noamundi Iron Mine’s accomplishment establishes a standard for safety practices.

The mine is commemorating its 100th anniversary of operations with this recognition.
