Traditional Tribal Dance Workshop Concludes at Ghatsila College
Five-day event showcases captivating performances and cultural appreciation.
The five-day traditional tribal dance and music workshop organized by the Santali Department at Ghatsila College concluded on Friday with a grand ceremony.
GHATSHILA – The five-day traditional tribal dance and music workshop at Ghatsila College, organized by the Santali Department, ended on Friday with a vibrant celebration.
Presided over by Principal Dr. R.K. Chaudhary, the event saw the participation of Ghatsila Sub-Divisional Officer Sachidanand Mahto as the chief guest.
Dr. R.K. Chaudhary welcomed SDO Sachidanand Mahto with a bouquet and traditional cloth.
Students, trained aon tribal musical instruments like the mandal, nagada, banam, tiriyo, ghanti, and other instruments, delivered captivating performances that impressed all attendees.
Trainers Baboolal Boypai, Nunarum Murmu, Kashinath Soren, Sheetal Hembram, and others were honored for their contributions.
Fifty students were awarded medals for their participation.
Chief guest Sachidanand Mahto praised the college’s efforts in preserving and promoting tribal culture.
He emphasized the importance of safeguarding tribal traditions and lauded Principal Dr. R.K. Chaudhary’s commendable work in this area.
Principal Dr. R.K. Chaudhary acknowledged the support of the Tata Steel Foundation and highlighted the contributions of Professors Manik Mardi and Basanti Mardi in organizing the event.
The ceremony was attended by MLA representative Jagdish Bhagat, Kanhu Samant, Dr. S.K. Singh, Dr. D.C. Ram, Professor Indal Paswan, Dr. Sandeep Chandra, Professor Maheshwar Pramanik, Dr. S.P. Singh, Dr. Kumar Vishal, Professor Vikas Munda, Professor Archana Surin, Dr. Sanjesh Tiwari, and a large number of students.
