Two-day event draws 250 students from CISCE schools in Jamshedpur
CISCE schools compete in zonal carrom trials, showcasing talent and sportsmanship in a vibrant atmosphere at RMS High School.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Zonal Carrom Selection Trial 2024 commenced at RMS High School, bringing together students from CISCE Board schools across Jamshedpur.
The event, inaugurated with a lively cultural program, saw the participation of 250 students from various CISCE Board schools in the city.
Principal Pratima Sinha extended a warm welcome to the attendees, including chief guest District Sports Officer Avinesh Kumar Tripathi, who officially opened the competition by hoisting the flag.
Notable guests at the inauguration included Rajasthan Maitri Sangh President Sanjay Kedia, Academic Head VK Tulsiyan, and principals from participating schools.
In his address, Tripathi commended the event’s organization and wished the participants success in their endeavors.
The School Management Committee presented mementos and robes to honor the chief guest and special invitees.
Day one of the competition featured league matches for boys across all three categories.
The East Singhbhum District Carrom Association provided judges to ensure fair play and adherence to rules throughout the tournament.
RMS High School’s principal, teachers, and staff worked diligently to create a conducive environment for the young athletes to showcase their skills.
As the competition progresses, participants are expected to display their strategic prowess and dexterity in this popular board game.
The two-day event aims to identify and nurture talented carrom players from the region, potentially paving the way for their participation in higher-level competitions.
