Jamshedpur temples witness overwhelming devotee influx as the auspicious month of Sawan commences, marked by fervent prayers and traditional offerings to Lord Shiva.
JAMSHEDPUR – The sacred month of Sawan began on Monday, ushering in a period of intense spiritual devotion across the city.
Thousands of devotees queued at local temples, their chants of ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ filling the air as they waited to offer prayers on the first Monday of Shravan.
"The energy today is incredible. It’s a blessed feeling to be here," expressed Rajesh Kumar, a devotee at a prominent Shiva temple.
Worshippers, adorned in traditional attire, brought offerings of bel patri (wood apple leaves) and milk, staple items in Shiva worship.
The resonant cries of ‘bam bam bhole’ and ‘har har mahadev’ echoed through temple premises, creating an atmosphere charged with spiritual fervor.
Temple authorities implemented crowd management measures to ensure smooth darshan for all devotees.
"We’ve made arrangements to handle the increased footfall while maintaining safety protocols," stated Pandit Ramesh Tiwari, head priest at a local temple.
Many devotees observed fasts as part of their spiritual practice, highlighting the significance of this holy month in Hindu tradition.
Priests conducted special rituals to mark the beginning of Sawan, guiding worshippers through the sacred ceremonies.
The month-long observance is expected to see continued high attendance at temples, as devotees seek blessings and spiritual growth.
Local administration worked in tandem with temple committees to manage the large crowds and ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines.
