BJP Deploys Assam CM to Revitalize Jharkhand Strategy

Himanta Biswa Sarma Tasked with Crafting Winning Formula for Assembly Polls

Veteran strategist aims to reverse recent Lok Sabha setbacks and secure BJP’s ‘double-engine’ vision for Jharkhand.

RANCHI – BJP’s high command has dispatched Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to Jharkhand, signaling an aggressive push to reclaim lost ground in the upcoming assembly elections.

Sarma, handpicked by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, arrived in Ranchi on Tuesday to analyze the party’s recent Lok Sabha losses and formulate a comeback strategy.

Despite setbacks in five Lok Sabha seats, including the unexpected loss in Khunti, the BJP remains optimistic about its assembly prospects.

"We are cent percent confident that we will win all the assembly seats under the particular constituencies," Sarma declared to the media, highlighting the party’s determination.

Sarma’s Jharkhand Mission

The Assam Chief Minister’s visit encompassed several key activities:

1. Consultation with State Leadership: Sarma held closed-door meetings with BJP’s Jharkhand brass, conveying expectations from the central leadership.

2. Ground-level Assessment: His tour to Khunti district included both private and public meetings to gauge the political climate.

3. Morale Boosting: In Torpa block, Sarma led a ‘Vijay Sankalp’ event, rallying party workers for the electoral battle ahead.

A senior BJP leader, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed the strategic importance of Sarma’s Khunti visit: "Today’s Khunti tour by Biswa is completely to identify the root causes that led to the party’s loss and accordingly make plans in the region to win three assembly seats."

Voter Base Expansion

Despite recent losses, Sarma emphasized a silver lining: "Though we lost the constituencies, we have gained voters in all the five constituencies." This growth in support base fuels the BJP’s confidence for the assembly polls.

The party’s focus on forming a "double-engine government" in Jharkhand underscores its ambition to align state and central leadership for maximum impact.

As Sarma charts the course for BJP’s resurgence in Jharkhand, all eyes are on how his strategies will unfold in the coming months, potentially reshaping the state’s political landscape.
