Two Hyva Trucks Crash on NH-18, Leaving One Dead in Early Morning Accident

Tragic incident on Ghatsila-bound lane underscores need for stringent safety measures on single-lane highways.

JAMSHEDPUR – A devastating collision between two Hyva trucks on National Highway 18 near Jairamdiha in the Dhalbhumgarh police station area resulted in the death of a driver early Monday morning.

The accident occurred when a sand-laden Hyva truck rear-ended another Hyva traveling in the same lane towards Ghatsila on NH-18.

Vikas Yadav, the driver of the front Hyva, lost his life instantly as the impact caused his vehicle to veer into the opposite lane and crash into the divider.

The collision was so severe that the engine of the rear Hyva became embedded in its cabin, trapping the deceased driver.

Dhalbhumgarh police rushed to the scene upon receiving information about the accident.

Rescue operations involved using a crane to extricate Vikas Yadav’s body from the wreckage.

The victim was immediately transported to Ghatsila Sub-divisional Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Authorities identified the deceased as a resident of Munger, Bihar.

Local residents alerted the police about the early morning crash, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

This tragic incident highlights the ongoing safety concerns on single-lane highways and the need for increased vigilance among heavy vehicle operators.
