Protesters Demand Action on Unauthorized Constructions in Kadma Jamshdpur

Residents voice concerns over illegal road closures and constructions

Protesters led by Sanjeev Acharya demand an investigation into unauthorized constructions and road closures in Kadma.

JAMSHEDPUR – On July 6, a protest was held in front of the East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner’s Office by the Sarva Dal Jan Ekta Manch.

Convenor Sanjeev Acharya led the group in protesting against illegal road closures and development in Kadma.

Copies of the memorandum were distributed to Tata Steel executives and other local officials, along with the Deputy Commissioner.

The demonstrators focused on two primary issues: the work going on close to the Kadma main road roundabout, and the closure of the century-old KD Flat main road and outer circle road in Kadma without the required administrative authority.

They assert that, in defiance of local government orders, roughly 40 by 15 feet of public space is being turned into commercial premises.

Acharya noted that these issues have not been fixed since January, despite multiple formal requests being sent to the district administration.

The organization claims that the Municipal Commissioner, Tata Steel management, and the district administration have all issued directions that are being broken by these acts.

Three public roads in Kadma that have been closed for the previous five months were to be reopened, and protestors demanded an immediate investigation.

They said that the district administration and the current government would be held accountable for these problems and threatened to stage more protests if their concerns were not heard.

Locals in Jamshedpur are waiting on the authorities to respond to their complaints about suspected illegal development and encroachment into public space.

"We seek transparency and adherence to administrative procedures in all construction activities," stated Sanjeev Acharya.

Summary Statement: Protesters in Jamshedpur demand an investigation into unauthorized constructions and road closures in Kadma, voicing their concerns to local authorities.
