Key Departments Redistributed Among 11 New Ministers
Chief Minister Hemant Soren has swiftly assigned portfolios to the 11 newly inducted ministers in his cabinet, reshaping Jharkhand’s governance structure with significant changes in key departments.
RANCHI – In a strategic move, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has redistributed ministerial portfolios following the inclusion of 11 new ministers in his cabinet.
The reshuffle, executed within hours of the cabinet expansion, sees major departments changing hands while the Chief Minister retains crucial portfolios.
Key Portfolio Allocations:
1. CM Hemant Soren: Retains Personnel, Administrative Reforms, Home, Prisons, Road and Building Construction, and other unallocated departments.
2. Champai Soren: Assigned Water Resources and Higher Technical Education.
3. Baidyanath Ram: Gains Excise and Prohibition, School Education and Literacy.
4. Irfan Ansari: Takes charge of Rural Development, Rural Works, and Panchayati Raj.
5. Deepika Pandey Singh: Awarded Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Cooperative, and Disaster Management.
6. Dr. Rameshwar Oraon: Entrusted with Finance, Planning and Development, Commercial Tax, and Parliamentary Affairs.


Significant Changes:
– Banna Gupta now oversees Health, Medical Education, Family Welfare, Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs.
– Satyanand Bhokta retains Labor and Skill Development, adding Industry to his portfolio.
– Deepak Birua handles Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Backward Class Welfare, and Transport.
– Mithilesh Thakur continues with Drinking Water and Sanitation.
– Hafizul Hasan manages Minority Welfare, Registration, Tourism, Art Culture, Sports, Youth Affairs, and Urban Development.
– Baby Devi takes over Women, Child Development, and Social Security from Joba Manjhi.
“This reshuffle aims to optimize governance and ensure efficient delivery of public services,” stated a spokesperson from the Chief Minister’s office. “The new structure balances experience with fresh perspectives to address Jharkhand’s diverse needs.”
The redistribution sees Congress securing key portfolios like Finance, Health, and Agriculture, while JMM retains control over several major departments. This allocation reflects the coalition dynamics and aims to streamline administrative functions across the state.
