Cyclonic Activity Expected to Influence Jharkhand Weather

IMD predicts light rain and temperature rise in Jharkhand

The monsoon trough passing through Daltenganj is set to influence Jharkhand’s weather, with a cyclonic area forming in southwestern Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and adjacent regions.

JAMSHEDPUR – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Ranchi has informed that the monsoon trough, which is currently passing through Daltenganj, will have an impact on the weather in Jharkhand in the upcoming days.

According to Chief Meteorologist Abhishek Anand, there will be light rainfall in certain areas of Jharkhand on Monday and Tuesday, July 8th and 9th.

The maximum temperature is expected to increase by 2 to 3 degrees over the next three days, but there are no significant changes anticipated after that.

Anand also said that there might be thunderstorms in certain parts of Jharkhand on Sunday.

Over the last day, there have been light to moderate rains with thunderstorms in the state, and certain areas have received heavy rainfall.

However, the monsoon activity in the state was generally weak during this period.

Kushiyari in Dumka has received the highest amount of rainfall, measuring 112 mm, in the past 24 hours.

Seraikela had the highest maximum temperature, reaching 36.5 degrees Celsius, while Ranchi experienced the lowest minimum temperature at 24 degrees Celsius.

During the period from June 1 to July 7, different regions in Jharkhand experienced different levels of rainfall. Ranchi received 177.7 mm of rainfall, Jamshedpur received 76.5 mm, Daltonganj received 139 mm, Bokaro-Thermal received 231 mm, and Chaibasa received 97.5 mm.

Over the past day, there was no rainfall in several districts, such as Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Daltonganj.

The monsoon rain deficit in Jharkhand has now decreased to 49 percent, with the state receiving a total of 129.3 mm of rainfall up to this point.

According to Abhishek Anand, “The weather patterns suggest that the temperature will slowly increase and there might be some light rain and thunderstorms in specific regions."

Summary Statement: The IMD forecasts light rain and thunderstorms in Jharkhand, with temperatures set to rise slightly due to a monsoon trough and cyclonic activity.
