Canopy Bridge Opens in Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary

New wooden bridge offers close-up wildlife views for tourists

A new canopy bridge in Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary offers tourists close-up wildlife views, enhancing their nature experience starting from October.

JAMSHEDPUR – A brand new canopy bridge has just been finished in Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary, providing an extraordinary chance for tourists to get an up-close view of the wildlife.

The bridge was originally planned to open in February 2024, but it experienced some administrative delays. However, I’m happy to inform you that it is now fully prepared to welcome visitors.

The bridge, which is made from trees found in the local area, stretches for 100 meters and reaches a height of 15 feet. It took around Rs 40 lakh to construct.

The bridge is designed to enhance the nature experiences of visitors, drawing inspiration from similar structures found in Karnataka’s forests.

The Chief Forest Conservator, SR Natesh, mentioned that the bridge has a capacity for up to five individuals at once, and there is a fee of Rs 250 per person for entry.

The bridge will be closed during the bird breeding season, which is from March to September. However, it will be open to welcome tourists from October to February.

This place offers a peaceful experience that feels like strolling through the treetops, allowing you to have close encounters with the creatures of the forest.

"We’re thrilled to finally open this bridge to the public," said SR Natesh. "The exhibition will provide a one-of-a-kind viewpoint and create a lasting impression for everyone who visits."
